Player of the Week

Austin is Steelers Digest Player of the Week

CALVIN AUSTIN
Wide Receiver

A Steelers wide receiver finished the 20-10 win over the Chargers on Sunday with 4 catches for 95 yards, and included in that total was a 25-yard reception to convert a third-and-14 on a drive that ended with a 38-yard field goal from Chris Boswell that tied the game, 10-10, in the third quarter. Three possession later, that same receiver caught a mid-range slant pass and ran away from Elijah Molden to complete a 55-yard touchdown that gave the Steelers a 20-10 lead midway through the fourth quarter.

By the way, the receiver who did all that was not George Pickens, but Calvin Austin III. And when you add in Austin's 20 yards on 2 punt returns, he is the Steelers Digest Player of the Week.

Also considered were RB Najee Harris who finished with 70 yards rushing (67 of which came in the second half) on 18 carries (3.9 average) and added 16 yards on 5 catches for 86 yards from scrimmage; QB Justin Fields, who completed 25-of-32 (78.1 percent) for 245 yards, with 1 touchdown, 1 interception, and a rating of 96.0 to go along with 6 yards rushing that included a 5-yard touchdown; ILB Patrick Queen, who led the team with 8 tackles and broke up a pass; ILB Elandon Roberts, who had 4 tackles and a sack; OLB Nick Herbig, who had 3 tackles, 2 sacks, and a forced fumble; OLB T.J. Watt, who 3 tackles, 1 sack, and 2 hits on the quarterback; and DT Cam Heyward, who had 4 tackles, including 2 for loss, and a sack.
