Player of the Week

Watt is Digest Player of the Week

T.J. WATT
Outside Linebacker

There was a recipe the Steelers were going to have to follow in order to leave Philadelphia with a victory, and one of the required ingredients was going to be a significant contribution from their outside linebackers. T.J. Watt certainly did his part.

In a game that ended in a 27-13 loss that dopped the Steelers to 10-4, the outside linebackers combined for 17 tackles, including 3 tackles for loss, plus 3 sacks, 4 hits on the quarterback, and 1 forced fumble. Watt personally contributed 7 of the tackles, including 1 for loss, 2 of the sacks, and the forced fumble on the Eagles' first offensive possession that Beanie Bishop recovered. Watt is the Steelers Digest Player of the Week.

Also considered were ILB Patrick Queen, who led the team with 11 tackles and had 1 hit on the quarterback; OLB Alex Highsmith, who had 8 tackles, including 2 for loss, and 1 sack; QB Russell Wilson, who completed 14-of-22 (63.6 percent) for 128 yards, with 1 touchdown, no interceptions, a rating of 94.5, while also rushing 4 times for 13 yards; WR Calvin Austin III, who caught 5 passes for 65 yards; TE Pat Freiermuth, who caught 3 passes for 22 yards, including a 9-yard touchdown; and PK Chris Boswell, who was 2-for-2 on field goals and now has converted 38-of-41 (92.7 percent) on the season.
