CHRIS BOSWELL
Placekicker
There weren't a lot of things settled definitively following the first of two – and maybe first of three games – this season between the Steelers and the Ravens. Well, upon further review, one thing was settled definitively: the best kicker in the AFC North plays for the Pittsburgh Steelers, and for the second time this season his right leg accounted for all of his team's points in a victory.
The Steelers defeated the Ravens, 18-16, on Sunday at Acrisure Stadium to raise their record to 8-2, thanks to some outstanding overall team defense and the fact Chris Boswell was 6-for-6 on field goal attempts (32, 52, 32, 57, and 50 yards). Boswell now has converted 29-of-30 on the season (96.7 percent) and 9-of-10 (90 percent) from 50 yards and longer. For the second time this season, Boswell is the Steelers Digest Player of the Week.
Also considered were Patrick Queen, who led the team with 10 tackles, including 1 for loss, and also forced and recovered a fumble; Minkah Fitzpatrick, who had 7 tackles, including 1 that saved a touchdown; Cam Heyward, who had 4 tackles and batted 2 passes down at the line of scrimmage; T.J. Watt, who had 3 tackles, including 2 for loss, 1 sack, and 2 hits on the quarterback; Joey Porter Jr., who had 1 tackle, 2 passes defensed, and made the play to foil the Ravens' 2-point conversion attempt that could have tied the game late in the fourth quarter; George Pickens, who caught 8 passes for 89 yards (11.1 average); and Najee Harris; who finished with 93 yards from scrimmage, which broke down to 63 yards rushing on a 3.5 average and 30 yards receiving on a 7.5 average.
