The Top 100 Players of 2021, presented by NFL Network, is being revealed over the next three weeks, with the first players, No. 100-41, revealed on Sunday during a six-hour show.
The Steelers are so far represented by Minkah Fitzpatrick, who is ranked No. 52, and Cameron Heyward, who is ranked No. 57. Fellow NFL players are the ones who vote.
Fitzpatrick was a first-team Associated Press All-Pro in 2020, the second straight year he earned the honor. He led the Steelers in tackles with 74, and also has 11 pass defenses, four interceptions – including one returned for a touchdown against Cleveland in Week 6, one tackle for a loss, one forced fumble and a fumble recovery. His five takeaways ranked fourth in the NFL and his four interceptions ranked seventh. He was also a 2020 Pro Bowl selection.
Heyward is coming off a strong 2020 season where he was voted second-team Associated Press All-Pro, the third time he received All-Pro honors in his career. The leader of the Steelers defense, he had 54 tackles in 2020, while adding 18 quarterback hits, seven tackles for loss, four sacks, three pass defenses and one interception, the first of his career. This is the fifth time Heyward has made the Top 100 list.
The Top 100 continues on Sunday, August 22, at 4 p.m. on NFL Network when No. 40-11 are revealed. The Top 10 will be revealed on Saturday, August 28, at 4 p.m. It will be followed by a Top 100 Players of 2021 Reaction Show.
