The Steelers signed cornerback DeMarkus Acy, who played college football at the University of Missouri, to a one-year contract.
Acy signed with the San Francisco 49ers following the 2020 NFL Draft as an undrafted rookie free agent. He was released prior to the start of the regular season and then spent part of the year on the Seattle Seahawks practice squad.
While at Missouri he played in 47 games with 36 starts, while recording 99 tackles, 23 pass defenses, three interceptions, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery. In 2019 he started 10 games, finishing with 15 tackles, five pass defenses and one fumble recovery. In 2018 he recorded 30 tackles, 13 pass defenses and three interceptions while earned second team All-SEC honors.
The team has also waived tight end Charles Jones and punter Corliss Waitman.
