The Steelers signed offensive lineman Max Scharping to a one-year contract.
Scharping was signed by the Steelers during the 2024 season and appeared in two games.
Scharping, who is entering his seventh NFL season, has appeared he 81 games, starting 33 of them.
He was drafted by the Houston Texans in the second round of the 2019 NFL Draft, the 55th overall selection. He spent three seasons with the Texans, appearing in 48 games, starting 33 of them at both left guard and right guard.
Scharping was acquired via waivers by the Cincinnati Bengals in 2022, playing in 14 games that season, without any regular season starts. He started all three postseason games at right guard after an injury to Alex Cappa. In 2023 he appeared in 17 games for the Bengals, mainly on special teams.
He played college football at Northern Illinois University where he started all 53 games of his career, seeing action at both guard and tackle.
