Los Acereros cerraron la pretemporada de manera invicta tras conseguir su tercera victoria consecutiva, en esta ocasión contra los Detroit Lions con marcador 19-9 jugado en el Acrisure Stadium.
Los Steelers jugaron de manera sobresaliente a la defensiva durante la primera mitad del partido, el equipo solamente permitió poco más de 100 yardas en los primeros dos cuartos del partido sin puntos en contra. Cabe destacar que varios jugadores de la defensiva titular jugaron casi en su totalidad los primeros cuartos del enfrentamiento, destacando del lado defensivo a Minkah Fitzpatrick y TJ Watt, quién en la semana habló de mejorar en detener la carrera de los oponentes y mientras él estuvo en el terreno de juego los Lions no llegaron ni a las 50 yardas terrestres.
Otros dos jugadores de la unidad defensiva que me llamaron la atención son Tre Norwood y Mark Robinson, quienes anduvieron muy activos en sus labores. Un reconocimiento especial a Cameron Sutton por la intercepción apenas arrancando el tercer cuarto de acción.
Ahora hablando un poco sobre la ofensiva, Mitch Trubisky se aventó los dos primeros cuartos de acción. Trubisky completó 15/19 para 160 yardas y fue el único de los QB's de los Acereros que lanzó un pase de anotación hoy.
Lo que sigue sin verse tan dentro de ritmo es el juego terrestre del equipo, en la primera mitad el equipo solamente corrió en 7 ocasiones, para 28 yardas entre Najee Harris, Gunner Olszewski y Jaylen Warren, entendiendo también que es pretemporada y que solamente faltan un par de semanas para la temporada regular y probablemente tampoco hay mucho por arriesgar en estas instancias.
En la segunda mitad del partido Kenny Pickett tomó las riendas de la ofensiva, completó 10/14 para 90 yardas y lució bien en su participación.
Quién tuvo mucho trabajo hoy fue Chris Boswell, quién conectó 4 goles de campo entre ellos uno de 54 yardas, aunque los Lions lograron taparle un intento en el tercer cuarto.
