The Steelers Fan Blitz, presented by Xfinity, proved beneficial in a variety of ways for fans and Steelers Nation Unite members on Saturday afternoon.
A new feature at this year's Fan Blitz was the opportunity for members of Steelers Nation Unite to announce one of the Steelers' draft picks live from Heinz Field. With all five* *of the Steelers' Day 3 selections being announced by fans and aired in Selection Square in Chicago, members who Checked In at Heinz Field using the Steelers mobile app could be selected for this exciting opportunity.
Adding to the excitement, two of the Steelers announcements were aired live on NFL Network, in addition to being broadcast in Selection Square.
Ed O' Donnell of Robinson Township, PA, got the afternoon started with announcement of the Steelers' fourth round pick, which was carried live on NFL Network. After being introduced by Craig Wolfley, O'Donnell stepped up to the podium and announced the selection of CB Doran Grant from Ohio State.
In Round 5, Lance Liston of Fort Wayne, IN, announced the selection of TE Jesse James from Penn State, which was also aired live on NFL Network.
Both of the Steelers' sixth round selections were also announced by Steelers Nation Unite members. Lebanon, PA, announced the selection of LB Anthony Chickillo (Miami).
For Round 7, Connor McQuaide was the special guest on stage during the pick announcement.
