Steelers Nation Unite

Showing their love for the Steelers

Steelers Nation turned out in full force on Sunday to cheer on the black and gold, and it wasn't just in the Washington area by a long shot.

The team hosted their annual "Siempre Steelers" Watch Party in Mexico, holding it in the city of Monterrey for the first time. In 2022 & 2023, the team held the event in Mexico City.

Over 2,000 fans packed the Showcenter arena in downtown Monterrey, with Terrible Towels waving for a thrilling afternoon of football, with scenes from the party featured on the CBS game broadcast in the United States, as well as on several of the NFL's partner networks in Mexico.

Steelers legends Dermontti Dawson, Jeff Hartings, Carnell Lake and Kordell Stewart were on hand, signing autographs, posing for pictures and enjoying the event as much as the fans were.

"We are so grateful for the incredible amount of support we receive, not only here in Monterrey, but anytime we visit Mexico," said Stewart, who also attended last year's Watch Party in Mexico City. "Seeing all these fans and all these Terrible Towels twirling was amazing. A big shout out to all the fans who came to the Watch Party at the Showcenter."

In what has become a tradition at the team's international watch parties, the feel of the day was similar to the atmosphere at Acrisure Stadium for a home game. Fans were able to enjoy live music and entertainment, purchase official Steelers merchandise, and game day content that is shown in-stadium in Pittsburgh was featured as well. There were also football-themed games and activities for kids and adults as well.

"We had an amazing day with a huge number of fans here in Monterrey," said Dawson. "I've been fortunate enough to visit Mexico a number of times in my career, and no matter where we go, it never ceases to amaze me the level of support from Steelers Nation in Mexico."

The Steelers Spanish language audio team, which includes Alvaro Martin and Arturo Carlos, held their broadcast at the party as part of a simulcast with the television broadcast of the game. Two-time Super Bowl winning kicker Raul Allegre, who is a native of Mexico, joined the broadcast as a special guest.

The excitement reached a fever pitch as the game came down to the wire, with the fans waving towels as the Steelers secured the win.
