The Steelers signed safety Terrell Edmunds to the active roster off the Jacksonville Jaguars practice squad. In a related move, the team placed punter Cameron Johnston on the Reserve/Injured List.
Edmunds was selected by the Steelers in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft. He spent five seasons in the black and gold before signing with the Philadelphia Eagles as a free agent in 2023.
Edmunds played in seven games for the Eagles in 2023, starting three, before he was traded to the Tennessee Titans in mid-season. With the Eagles he had 26 tackles, 19 of them solo stops, two special teams tackles and one fumble recovery.
Edmunds played in nine games for the Titans, starting one. He recorded 15 tackles, 12 of them solo stops, two passes defensed and one interception.
In his final season in Pittsburgh in 2022, he had 70 tackles, including 41 solo stops, five passes defensed, two sacks, three tackles for a loss and two quarterback hurries in 15 games, all which he started.
In 2021 he started all 17 games, finishing with 89 tackles, eight tackles for a loss, six passes defended, a sack, quarterback hurry and two interceptions.
In his five seasons with the Steelers, Edmunds started 75 of the 79 games he played in. He had 405 tackles, 15 tackles for a loss, five interceptions and five sacks.
