La temporada regular está pasando rapidísimo, ya estamos en la semana 5 y es turno de enfrentarnos a los Baltimore Ravens en Acrisure Stadium, un duelo divisional importantísimo que se jugará el próximo domingo 8 de octubre en Pittsburgh.
Uno de los temas más importantes de cara al próximo partido es la participación de Kenny Pickett, recordemos que nuestro quarterback salió del juego contra Texans por una lesión en la rodilla. Mike Tomlin comentó lo siguiente en su conferencia de prensa, "Tiene una lesión en el hueso de la rodilla, tendrá un nivel de participación en las prácticas y desde ahí procederemos a tomar una decisión, entre más cómodo y funcional lo veamos más participación tendrá y mientras nos acerquemos al partido, la calidad de su juego será un factor que determinará su participación en le juego".
Sobre nuestro rival, no cabe duda de que tenemos que frenar a Lamar Jackson, un viejo conocido en nuestra división, "Debemos hacer lo necesario para frenar a Lamar (Jackson) y su impacto en el juego, lo hace todo, expande el terreno de juego, lee todo el campo en el juego aéreo y reparte el balón entre todos sus compañeros, especialmente Mark Andrews".
Es curioso porque Lamar Jackson tiene marca de 1-2 contra los Steelers y es que se ha perdido 3 juegos de manera consecutiva contra Pittsburgh y 5 en total en su carrera desde que fue drafteado por Baltimore.
Nuestra defensiva tendrá un buen reto para contener a su quarterback, pero T.J. Watt viene con un ritmo muy bueno, 6 capturas en 4 partidos. La defensiva de los Steelers ha capturado en 16 ocasiones a Jackson en tres partidos jugados en contra de él.
La ofensiva tiene la misma asignatura pendiente, establecer el juego terrestre temprano en el partido y entrar en ritmo con serie prolongadas lo más pronto posible, conocemos el talento que hay en los linebackers de Baltimore especialmente en Raquon Smith y Patrick Queen, "es un duo dinámico, en carrera, en pases, en cargas, siempre tienen impacto" comentó Coach Tomlin.
La serie entre ambos equipos va 30-24 a favor de los Steelers en temporada regular. Pittsburgh ha ganado cinco de los últimos seis partidos que se han jugado en temporada regular. Y como sabemos estos juegos siempre suelen definirse por pocos puntos, de hecho 36 de los 54 partidos se han definido por una posesión.
