Mike Warfield, Aliquippa Quips
Week 9 Coach of the Week honors go to Mike Warfield from the Aliquippa Quips. In the semi-finals of the WPIAL Playoffs, the Quips upend Belle Vernon 33-25 to advance to the WPIAL Championship for the 13th consecutive season. What makes this accomplishment even more impressive is that the Quips have an enrollment for Class 1A classification, but are 9-0 and are the number-1 seeded team playing in Class 4A. Coach Warfield was the quarterback on the Quips 1987 WPIAL Championship team, and is in his third season as head coach at his alma mater.
