The Steelers High School Showcase Game of the Week, presented by Giant Eagle, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, and the Spread Group, will continue into the postseason as the Steelers announced the plan to air the WPIAL playoffs on television this year.
Each week during the three-week stretch the WPIAL playoffs take place, a featured game will air on KDKA+ on Friday night at 7 p.m.
"We're excited to extend our weekly coverage of high school football on television and our social media platforms into the WPIAL playoffs," said Dan Rooney, Steelers Director of Business Development & Strategy. "Extending into the postseason allows more people the ability to watch more high school football games and also further celebrate the young athletes in our region."
The first game will air on Friday, Nov. 1, followed by the next two weeks on Friday, Nov. 8 and Friday, Nov. 15.
The Steelers and KDKA have partnered with JRM Productions to produce the WPIAL playoff games. As part of the Game of the Week feature, current and former Steelers players will make appearances at the games and the weekly game will be featured on the Steelers Youth Football social platforms.
This is the latest endeavor as the team continues to build on its support of youth and high school football in Western Pennsylvania.
