The Steelers activated cornerback Cory Trice Jr. from the Reserve/Injured (Designated for Return) List to the 53-man roster.
Trice has been sidelined since injuring his hamstring against the Los Angeles Chargers, seeing action in only three games. He said returning to practice has been a blessing, but now he just wants to play.
"I missed practicing. That's really where the growth comes in that people really don't see," said Trice. "That's where you get better. I missed it a lot, working on my game.
"I have always been preparing like I was going to play week in and week out. Still the same preparation, definitely was exciting mentally to get back to practice.
"Whenever they call me, I've got to be ready. And I'll be ready for sure."
Trice, who was drafted by the Steelers in the seventh round of the 2023 NFL Draft, spent all of last season on the Reserve/Injured List.
Trice recently was selected as the Steelers 2024 Ed Block Courage Award winner, given to a player who has shown courage either coming back from an injury or a life-altering situation.
The team waived running back Jonathan Ward on Wednesday.
