Mark your calendars for Saturday, December 5, at 8 p.m. when the Steelers celebrate their annual Alumni Weekend with a special online video program.
Unlike past seasons, when Steelers alumni gathered at Heinz Field the night before the game, and then were honored at halftime on game day, this year's event will be celebrated virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
This year's Alumni Weekend will celebrate 20 seasons at Heinz Field, which opened in 2001.
Starting at 8 p.m. on December 5, the Steelers will stream a program on Steelers.com and the Steelers Mobile App, as well as the team's Facebook and YouTube channels. The presentation, hosted by Missi Matthews, will feature some of the great games and moments played at Heinz Field over the past 20 seasons, with former Steelers sharing their memories and what the games and moments meant to them.
Fans can get involved now by sharing their favorite Heinz Field memories on social media by using #HeinzFieldMemories. The Steelers social media platforms will share these memories leading up to the event and several will be featured in the online program.
In addition, fans can get involved in the celebration now by bidding or donating to the Steelers Alumni Weekend Auction, which runs through December 11. The auction, which benefits the UPMC Sports Concussion Program and the Cancer Caring Center, will feature unique items and great Heinz Field memorabilia.
