Steelers inactives for Week 5 vs Eagles

The Steelers will be without Derek Watt (hamstring) and Marcus Allen (foot) when they take on the Philadelphia Eagles at Heinz Field today after both were ruled out of the game on Friday and are on the inactive list today. Both were injured two weeks ago against the Houston Texans.

A few other players who showed up on the injury report during the week are fine and all are active today, and that includes linebacker T.J. Watt, who missed practice on Thursday with a knee issue.

"I feel great," said T.J. Watt on Friday. "I practiced well today, flying around. I'll be ready to go for Sunday, no doubt."

The Steelers have good news at receiver too with JuJu Smith-Schuster (knee) and Diontae Johnson (toe) both active after missing practice early in the week.

"Having Diontae out there, he makes splash plays, and that is something he has always been doing," said Smith-Schuster. "Even when he wasn't out there, we have guys who can fill those spots. James Washington can play X and he got the job done and did what we needed to win our game. We got guys who can play."

Trey Edmunds was elevated from the practice squad on Saturday and he is active for the game today, his first game of the 2020 season.

In addition to Watt and Allen, quarterback Joshua Dobbs, tight end Zach Gentry, defensive tackle Carlos Davis and offensive tackle Derwin Gray are inactive.

On the Eagles side, receivers Alshon Jeffery and Desean Jackson were both ruled of out the game on Friday with injuries.
