The Steelers announced their inactives for Sunday's game against the Minnesota Vikings at Heinz Field, and will go into the game without defensive end Stephon Tuitt, who is dealing with a biceps injury. Tuitt suffered the injury in the early moments of the season opener against the Cleveland Browns last week. Tuitt did see limited action in practice on Friday, but isn't going to play today.
With Tuitt inactive, Tyson Alualu and L.T. Walton both saw additional playing time when Tuitt went down, and are ready to go this week.
"Any time you can go, you go," said Alualu. "I always had that mentality. I am trying to keep it up and be out there for my teammates and do my job when I am called upon. I have always prepared to go out there and do the best I can, do my job. Whatever the coaches ask of me and be accountable to the players I am next to.
"I think we have the right group of guys to step up and do their job the best way they can."
On the offensive side of the ball rookie quarterback Joshua Dobbs, along with veteran receiver Justin Hunter are inactive. The Steelers will once again dress five receivers, including starters Antonio Brown and Martavis Bryant, along with Eli Rogers, Darrius Heyward-Bey and rookie JuJu Smith-Schuster. Jerald Hawkins, who was ruled out on Friday with a knee injury and is inactive for the second straight week, along with offensive lineman Matt Feiler. Seven offensive linemen will dress, including the starting five, B.J. Finney and Chris Hubbard.
Safety J.J. Wilcox, who suffered a concussion against the Browns and only worked in a limited role on Friday and is inactive, as is tight end Vance McDonald, who is hampered by a back injury. The Steelers dressed three tight ends against the Browns, but will go into today's game with just Jesse James and Xavier Grimble.
