Heyward always giving back

Steelers players, both current and alumni, don't hesitate when it comes to helping the Pittsburgh community. That is evident year round, and will be on display when Cameron Heyward and his wife Allie serve as honorary chairs for the second annual Kenny's Koaster Race at Kennywood Park on Sunday, June 3.

The 5K Race through Kennywood, a Pittsburgh staple, benefits the Cancer Caring Center, a local organization that helps those battling cancer, as well as families who have been impacted.

Heyward, whose late father Craig Heyward battled cancer, is passionate about helping those fighting the disease, and this is just another way for him to lend a hand.

"I have been involved for a couple of years and I understand their heart is in the right place," said Heyward. "We all have been affected by cancer. Whether we can raise more money, get more people involved, bring people together, it's something I want to be involved with."

The Top 10 fundraisers for the event ($500 minimum) will be guests at a luncheon hosted by the Heywards. All participants will be eligible to win a football signed by Heyward.
