Five Fast Facts: DeShon Elliott

1. Elliott signed a two-year contract this offseason. Elliott, who was originally selected by the Baltimore Ravens in the sixth round of the 2018 NFL Draft, has appeared in 57 career games, starting 50 of them. He has record 283 tackles, 198 of them solo stops, 17 passes defensed, three and a half sacks, three interceptions, three forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries.

2. Elliott said he wanted to sign with the Steelers because of the 'culture' of the team. "Growing up watching Troy Polamalu play, the Steel Curtain, like this is real football," said Elliott.

3. Elliott considered stepping away from football while he was at Texas, feeling unsatisfied with what he was getting from the sport. A new coaching staff at the school provided a fresh start, keeping on the path that landed him in the NFL and eventually with the Steelers.

4. Elliott has a tattoo of The Joker, the version from the movie, The Dark Night. He earned the nickname 'The Joker,' after his secondary coach in college saw the tattoo. He even has utilized a Joker type of celebration after a sack.

5. Elliott showed off his sense of style when he attended Paris Fashion Week this year. He shared images of his many looks on his IG account, showing off multiple looks.
