Gracias a una defensiva que generó 4 intercepciones del quarterback novato Jake Luton, los Steelers mejoraron su marca a 10-0 (el mejor inicio en la historia del equipo) con una contundente victoria en Jacksonville 27-3 en contra de unos Jaguars que ahora tienen nueve derrotas en fila.

Despertó el ataque terrestre
Después de tres semanas en las que el equipo no pudo superar las 50 yardas por tierra, este partido no sólo se superó la marca, sino que fue clave para que los Steelers tuvieran el balón por más de 36 minutos. Fueron 106 yardas por tierra, pero eso también incluye las tres jugadas de rodilla en piso que tuvo Mason Rudolph.
James Conner tuvo 89 yardas en 13 acarreos, incluyendo un par de escapadas largas. Benny Snell encontró la zona de anotación y en general el ataque de los Steelers tuvo mayor balance que en otras semanas.
Dominio de la defensiva
Los Steelers aprovecharon enfrentar a un ataque lleno de novatos y el resultado fue el que se esperaba cuando se tiene una de las mejores defensivas de toda la NFL: 3 puntos en total, 4 entregas de balón, 4 de 13 en terceras oportunidades, 206 yardas de ofensiva total y 3.7 yardas por jugada.
En general la defensiva dominó de principio a fin, además de mantener la racha de al menos un sack en 67 partidos (y acercarse al récord de los Bucs) y ambos safeties titulares terminaron con dos intercepciones.
¿Qué se puede mejorar?
La intercepción de Big Ben
De las pocas cosas que se pueden criticar en este partido fue la decisión de Big Ben de arriesgar el balón en los segundos finales de la primera mitad para buscar un TD. Roethlisberger forzó el balón y fue la única entrega de balón de Pittsburgh en este partido, además de que el equipo se quedó sin puntos. En juegos más cerrados ese tipo de decisiones podrían ser la diferencia entre una victoria y una derrota.

La intercepción de Minkah Fitzpatrick en el segundo cuarto
Esa fue la jugada que cambió el rumbo del partido. La ofensiva de Jacksonville estaba dentro de la zona roja (en la yarda 9) abajo 10-3, y con la oportunidad de conseguir el empate. Sin embargo el pase de Luton es desviado por Tyson Alualu y Fitzpatrick tomó el balón. Siete jugadas después los Steelers pusieron el balón dentro de la zona de anotación y el partido se puso fuera de alcance para Jacksonville.

Es injusto sólo señalar a un jugador de esta defensa y aunque Minkah y Terrell Edmunds lograron las dos intercepciones, creo que fue una labor espectacular de todo el equipo, tanto de la línea defensiva en generar presión, como el resto de la defensa en evitar jugadas explosivas.
Conclusiones
Pittsburgh se impuso en contra de un rival inferior y lo hizo de forma contundente. Lo más importante no sólo es que se mantiene el paso perfecto por la temporada, sino que el equipo mantiene el control por tener todos los juegos de Playoffs en casa.
Lo importante es que no hubo sorpresas ni preocupaciones de más. En una semana corta en donde enfrentan a los Ravens, eso ayuda a planear el juego de vital importancia el próximo jueves.
