¿Ya se recuperaron? Yo no. Una locura lo que vivimos en el primer partido de la temporada 2022. Los Steelers visitaron a los Bengals en un partido que tuvo de todo un poco, una EXTRAORDINARIA actuación de la defensiva de Pittsburgh, momentos para no creerse, TIEMPO EXTRA y muchas cosas por mejorar del equipo, especialmente a la ofensiva. El marcador fue un loco 23 - 20 a favor de nuestro equipo.
La defensiva de los Steelers tuvo un partidazo, nada más en la primera mitad del partido la defensiva recuperó 4 balones, anotó y capturó a Joe Burrow en 4 ocasiones. Cam Heyward, Alex Highsmith y TJ Watt se dieron un festín. Apenas en la primera jugada de la defensiva Heyward capturó a Burrow y una jugada después Minkah Fitzpatrick se llevó el pick six, lo que representó el primer touchdown de Pittsburgh en la temporada y todo parecía pintar bien tras los dos primeros cuartos.
La ofensiva sufrió mucho para entrar en ritmo, en la primera mitad la producción fue irrelevante, sin consistencia, varios jugadores desubicados, sin un juego terrestre sólido y a Trubisky bastante inquieto en la bolsa a pesar de que no fue capturado en los dos primeros cuartos del juego . La verdad es que no se aprovecharon al máximo las oportunidades otorgadas por la defensiva y más tarde en el juego eso cobró factura.
En el segundo cuarto TJ Watt interceptó un pase y de esa ofensiva surgió el primer y único touchdown de la ofensiva del partido. Trubisky encontró a el tao tao, Najee Harris, con una jugada muy buena en la que provocaron a la defensiva a cargar desde la segunda línea lo que le permitió a Harris quedar descubierto para la anotación.
Como diría Bad Bunny, "Vamo' pal mambo", la locura, el descontrol, todo eso fue la segunda mitad del partido y el tiempo extra. En general durante el tiempo de juego regular no sucedió mucho, la defensiva, notablemente cansada tras haber realizado una labor titánica durante la primera mitad, naturalmente empezó a bajar el ritmo, no por falta de ganas, más bien por la exigencia y el tiempo en el terreno de juego.
T.J. Watt salió lesionado del (hombro/pectoral) y no se ha hecho un reporte oficial, pero todo indica a que no es algo bueno y tomará tiempo, Cam Heyward también salió algo tocado y Najee Harris no pudo terminar el juego por una lesión en el tobillo.
Burrow y su ofensiva pusieron en aprietos a los Steelers, faltando segundos para que terminara el partido lograron igual el marcador a 20 con un pase de anotación a Ja'Marr Chase pero Minkah Fitzpatrick se puso la capa de superhéroe y logró tapar el punto extra que hubiera significado la victoria para los Bengals.
Pittsburgh arrancó con el balón en su posesión y no logró ni un primero y diez, luego los Bengals tuvieron la oportunidad de llevarse el juego con un gol de campo de 29 yardas y por obra de la vida, McPhearson lo falló. Los Steelers tuvieron OTRA OPORTUNIDAD y cuando parecía que nuestro muchacho Boswell lo tenía todo bajo control… "Dooooooooing" la reventó en el poste en un intento de 55 yardas. OTRA VEZ LOS BENGALS con el balón pero en esta ocasión la defensiva forzó la patada de despeje y con el balón en posesión por tercera vez en el tiempo extra, probablemente vimos la mejor versión de la ofensiva hasta el momento, un atrapadón de Diontae Johnson y Boswell nos dio la primera W de la temporada con un gol de campo de 53 yardas por el centro de los postes.
Siempre es bueno empezar con una victoria, más si es divisional. Lo que sí creo es que hay mucho por mejorar del lado ofensivo del balón, encontrar ritmo, poder establecer la carrera temprano en el partido y poder crear ofensivas largas que se conviertan en puntos, igual saber capitalizar las oportunidades que te da la defensiva.
