HR 2: Fireside Friday - Week 9

The Jets ended their five-game losing streak last night against Houston whose CJ Stroud seems to be really struggling without his star wide receivers. While the Steelers are on the bye week there's still plenty of NFL action to cover this week, and Tom and Jacob make their picks for the Triple Play.

The Steelers sit at 6-2 heading into their bye week at the halfway point of the season so how would you grade the jobs done so far by Arthur Smith, Teryl Austin, and Danny Smith. Former Steelers WR Diontae Johnson didn't last long in Carolina as the Panthers traded him to the Baltimore Ravens.

Najee Harris ran for his third straight 100-yard game, TJ Watt and Alex Highsmith both tallied two sacks, and the special teams returned a punt for a touchdown in the win over the New York Giants.

TJ Watt and Alex Highsmith both got to the quarterback and Beanie Bishop came up with the game-sealing interception, but the run defense allowed 150+ yards on the ground and have dropped from the second best to the fourth best run defense in the league. The Bengals got blown out at home against the Eagles, Jameis Winston got his first start of the season on his way to beating the Ravens, Jayden Daniels played the role of super hero with his last second Hail Mary, and more wild NFL Week 8 action.

The Giants have been the best team all season at sacking the quarterback so it's imperative Russell Wilson stays calm despite the pass rush to lead the offense to another offensive outburst. Malik Nabers is really the only stud the Giants have on offense, but the Steelers secondary should have an easy time shutting him down. Tom and Jacob make their predictions for who steps up against the Giants as a Big Balla.

The Vikings and Rams Thursday night matchup ended in controversy after an obvious missed face mask call in the endzone which helped the Rams win the game. News broke this morning about the Chiefs adding WR DeAndre Hopkins to their roster, which leaves the Steelers with one less option to potentially help their WR room. Dexter Lawrence is the obvious guy to circle and gameplan against on the Giants this week.
