Jason Brooks is in his first season as Pittsburgh's defensive quality control coach and his eighth season in the NFL.

Brooks, a veteran NFL and college coach, joins Pittsburgh after serving the last two seasons with the Baltimore Ravens. He spent six seasons with the Ravens serving in multiple roles, including football analyst (2022), assistant defensive line/quality control coach (2021), offensive quality control coach (2011-12) and offensive assistant (2009-10). He was a member of the Ravens team that defeated San Francisco in Super Bowl XLVII (2012).

Before returning to Baltimore in 2021, Brooks served as the defensive line coach at Charleston Southern (2019-20) and held assistant positions with Colby College (2017-18) and Florida International (2013-16). In 2008, Brooks served as the wide receivers coach at Norwich University. His initial NFL experience came in 2007 when he worked as a scouting assistant for the Miami Dolphins.

Brooks started his coaching career at his alma mater as a student assistant coach at Middle Tennessee State in 2006. His late father, Clarence, coached 24 years in the NFL and 17 years collegiately. Brooks and his wife Sandy have two children, Aviana and Avery.
