Steelers linebacker LaMarr Woodleywas named AFC Defensive Player of the Month for his dominant performances in the month of October. Woodley finished the month with a league-high 7.5 sacks, 25 tackles and one interception, guiding the team to a 4-1 record.
Woodley's 7.5 sacks in October are the second-highest total in team history for any month. His sack yardage total (56.5) is the most by a Steelers' player for any month.
Woodley became the first player in Steelers' history to register at least 1.5 sacks in four consecutive regular-season games, a streak still intact. He capped off his month with a two-sack performance against the New England Patriots.
