The highs and lows of the Steelers preseason Week 3 game vs. the Indianapolis Colts.

7:30 p.m. ET - Kickoff

7:37 p.m. ET - What went wrong:** Knile Davis got the start at running back and took advantage of playing with the No. 1 offensive line. Davis carried twice for 21 yards and also added 9 more yards on a screen pass within the first handful of offensive plays. But then an apparent miscommunication between Jesse James and Al Villanueva that allowed linebacker John Simon to execute a sack-strip of Ben Roethlisberger. Hassan Ridgeway recovered for Indianapolis at the Colts 37-yard line.

7:43 p.m. ET - What went wrong: The Colts took advantage of the takeaway and with 10:46 left in the first quarter Frank Gore plunged into the end zone from 1 yard out to give Indianapolis a 7-0 lead. The big play on the drive was a 55-yard catch-and-run by Donte Moncrief that was made possible when Robert Golden knocked Artie Burns off the receiver as he was trying to make the tackle. It appeared the Steelers were going to force the Colts to kick a red zone field goal, but an iffy pass interference call on Stephon Tuitt in the end zone gave the Colts a first down at the 1-yard line.

7:53 p.m. ET - What went right:** The Steelers cut the Colts lead to 7-3 with a 36-yard field goal by Chris Boswell with 4:56 left in the first quarter, but it seemed as though their second offensive possession could've yielded more. Roethlisberger started the possession by completing 5-of-5 for 64 yards, but then he missed on back-to-back throws to Jesse James, the second of which was knocked loose by Matthias Farley. That forced the Steelers to settle for red zone field goal.

8:05 p.m. ET - End of 1st Quarter: Colts 7, Steelers 3

8:11 p.m. ET - What went right:** The Colts offense was having its way. Through the first quarter, the Colts had 111 net yards, had converted their only third-down situation, and Scott Tolzien had completed 5-of-6. The Steelers pass rush hadn't gotten to Tolzien, and it appeared as though Indianapolis was on a direct path to a second touchdown. That's when Tolzien tried to go over the middle to tight end Jack Doyle. Ryan Shazier read the quarterback's eyes and made the interception at the Steelers 20-yard line and returned it 12 yards to the 32-yard line.

8:21 p.m. ET - What went wrong:** The Colts extended their lead to 10-3 on a 45-yard field goal by Adam Vinatieri on a possession that produced one big play that showcased the Steelers problems in pass coverage. The rush on Scott Tolzien got there too late and would result in a roughing the passer penalty on Bud Dupree, and then on the other end Ross Cockrell never located the football and Phillip Dorsett made the catch along the sideline for a 32-yard gain. When the penalty was added, the Colts moved from their own 17-yard line to the Steelers 36-yard line.

8:41 p.m. ET - What went wrong: The Colts made it through the first 27 minutes of the game without having to punt. On four possessions, the Indianapolis offense scored three times – two field goals and a touchdown – and turned the ball over once on an interception by Ryan Shazier. Their second field goal drive covered 51 yards in nine plays and ended with a 31-yard field goal by Adam Vinatieri.

8:54 p.m. ET - Halftime: Colts 13, Steelers 6

8:56 p.m. ET - What went wrong: The first half ended with the Colts holding a 13-6 lead, after the Steelers drove 63 yards in 14 plays so that Chris Boswell could convert a 41-yard field goal with a few seconds left in the first half. Landry Jones completed 8-of-12 for 61 yards on the drive.

9:15 p.m. ET - What went right: It was the first possession of the second half, the first punt by Indianapolis, and the first pass defensed by rookie Cam Sutton. It was a third-and-5 from the Indianapolis 24-yard line, and when Stephen Morris tried to get the ball on a short crossing route to JoJo Natson, Sutton dove and knocked the ball away.

9:21 p.m. ET - What went right:** After the defense forced a punt, the offense marched 63 yards in eight plays to score a touchdown on a 10-yard pass from Landry Jones to Xavier Grimble, who made a one-handed grab in the end zone. On the drive, James Conner carried four times for 26 yards, and Jones was 4-for-4 for 32 yards and the touchdown. The Steelers failed to tie the game when Chris Boswell missed the extra point to the left.

9:28 p.m. ET - What went right: On his first two series as a pro, Cam Sutton had two tackles, including one for loss, plus a pass defensed.

9:38 p.m. ET - What went right:** The Steelers took a 15-13 lead on a 37-yard field goal by Chris Boswell that capped a 12-play 52-yard drive. On the possessions, Landry Jones converted a third-and-10 with a 15-yard pass to Terrell Watson and another third-and-10 with a 15-yard pass to JuJu Smith-Schuster. There was 1:33 left in the third quarter.

9:44 p.m. ET - End of 3rd Quarter: Steelers 15, Colts 13

9:57 p.m. ET - What went wrong: The Colts reclaimed the lead with a 14-play, 86-yard drive that ended with a 1-yard run by Josh Ferguson with 9:47 left in the fourth quarter. On the possession, the Colts converted a third-and-11, a third-and-6, and a third-and-2. The score was 19-15 after Adam Vinatieri missed the extra point.
