The highs and lows of the Steelers AFC Divisional Playoff Game at the Kansas City Chiefs.
8:20 p.m. ET - Kickoff
8:29 p.m. ET - What went right: The Steelers won the toss and broke with their recent habit of deferring and took the ball. Justin Gilbert returned the kickoff 28 yards out to the 30-yard line, and from there Ben Roethlisberger operated exclusively out of the no-huddle. Le'Veon Bell carried three times for 25 yards, and Roethlisberger completed 5-of-7 for 41 yards, but the Steelers ended up having to settle for a red zone field goal when a third down completion to Eli Rogers was 1 yard short of a first down.

8:36 p.m. ET - What went wrong:** Tyreek Hill affected the kickoff following Chris Boswell's opening field goal without ever touching the ball. Boswell attempted a squib kick with the idea of it being fielded by a player without return skills, but tight end Demetrius Harris fielded the ball at the 20-yard line and returned it 25 yards. A 21-yard pass to Travis Kelce was the big play in a six-play, 55-yard drive that ended up in the end zone via a 5-yard pass to Albert Wilson. With 6:09 remaining in the first quarter, Kansas City held a 7-3 lead.
8:46 p.m. ET - What went right: Two possessions, two field goals. And while Boswell's 38-yard field goal made the Chiefs lead 7-6, there was a sense of missed opportunity with regard to the Steelers first two offensive possessions. On this one, Ben Roethlisberger threw a bit high to Antonio Brown on a third-and-7 from the Chiefs 20-yard line. With 3:51 remaining in the first quarter, Le'Veon Bell had only four carries.
8:49 p.m. ET - What went right: On Boswell's second kickoff of the game, he sent it to the goal line, where Tyreek Hill fielded the ball, but he only made it out to the 13-yard line before he was stopped in his tracks by Vince Williams.

8:57 p.m. ET - End of 1st Quarter:** Chiefs 7, Steelers 6
9:07 p.m. ET - What went right: Another offensive possession. Another red zone field goal. This one was from 36 yards out, and it gave the Steelers a 9-7 lead with 9:18 left in the first half, but the sense of squandered opportunity seemed to be growing. A critical play in this 14-play, 53-yard drive was a pass from Ben Roethlisberger to Antonio Brown, who was slanting over the middle. Brown was in the end zone and Roethlisberger delivered the ball on target, but it seemed as though Brown didn't secure the catch before Marcus Peters got a hand in there to disrupt things. The pass fell incomplete.
9:15 p.m. ET - What went right: Ryan Shazier became the first linebacker in Steelers history to have interceptions in back-to-back playoff games, when he came down with the flutterball created by Bud Dupree hitting Alex Smith as he released the ball. The Steelers took possession at the Cheifs 44-yard line.
9:17 p.m. ET - What went wrong: This time, it wasn't even a red zone field goal but a red zone turnover instead. After Shazier's interception gave the Steelers the ball inside Kansas City territory midway through the second period. A 26-yard completion to Jesse James gave the Steelers a first-and-goal at the 5-yard line. The next play was an attempted back-shoulder throw to Antonio Brown, but the ball never got there. Frank Zombo batted the ball into the air and Eric Berry intercepted in the end zone for a touchback.
9:33 p.m. ET - What went right: A fourth field goal – a 45-yarder from Chris Boswell with 55 seconds left in the first half – extended the Steelers lead to 12-7, but it also left a sense of unfinished business. This time it was a third-and-12 from the Chiefs 27-yard line, when defensive end Chris Jones got finger on Ben Roethlisberger's pass, which then rendered the trip of Eli Rogers down the field a non-penalty.
9:45 p.m. ET - Halftime: Steelers 12, Chiefs 7

10:09 p.m. ET - What went right:** After pitching a three-and-out on the Chiefs' opening possession of the second half, the Steelers offense turned to Le'Veon Bell, who ripped off gains of 38, 6, and 5 yards to give them a first down at the Kansas City 25-yard line. But from there, the offense gained nothing, and Chris Boswell's fifth field goal set a franchise record for the most in a postseason game, and upped the Steelers lead to 15-7 early in the third quarter.
10:31 p.m. ET - What went wrong: Third-and-20. Alex Smith had plenty of time to throw a deep sideline pass to Jeremy Maclin, who made the catch at the down marker for a first down at the Steelers 36-yard line with about a minute remaining in the third quarter.
10:33 p.m. ET - What went wrong: Three plays after Jeremy Maclin's catch, Cairo Santos cut the Steelers lead to 15-10 with a 48-yard field goal by Cairo Santos with 10 seconds left in the third quarter.
