LAWRENCE TIMMONS**
Inside Linebacker
Their starting quarterback was at the hospital having his right shoulder examined, and their starting free safety was being evaluated for a possible concussion. There was no Troy Polamalu or Rashard Mendenhall or Antonio Brown, and the Steelers needed somebody to step up in a critical situation.
That turned out to be Lawrence Timmons, who stepped in front of a pass intended for Dewayne Bowe on the second play of overtime and made an interception that he returned 23 yards to the Kansas City 5-yard line. On the next play, Shaun Suisham kicked the field goal that gave the Steelers a 16-13 win.
Lawrence Timmons, who also had seven tackles and two passes defensed, is the Steelers Digest Player of the Week.
Also considered were Brett Keisel, who had eight tackles and two sacks; Ryan Clark, who had 10 tackles; and Mike Wallace, who made an acrobatic catch in the back corner of the end zone for the Steelers' only touchdown on the night.
