Steelers fans turned out in large numbers at Heinz Field on Tuesday night for the unveiling of the Sixth Super Bowl Championship Column and a celebration concert.
The giant trophy is on display in the Coca-Cola Great Hall, where the columns from the other five Super Bowl titles the team has won are also located. The Lombardi Trophy, along with memorabilia from Super Bowl XLIII, is housed within the column.
"It's unbelievable to see this many trophies in one room and like we've been saying, there's only one place in the country you can see this so it's pretty exciting and our fans are really excited to be here and help unveil the sixth column," said Steelers President Art Rooney, II, who handled the unveiling along with director of football operations Kevin Colbert.
Fans had the opportunity to have their photo taken with the six Super Bowl Trophies and were also treated to musical performances, including country music star Billy Ray Cyrus who is a fan of the black and gold.
"I just love it," said Cyrus. "I love being a part of the Steeler Nation and this is a great opportunity to come out, celebrate with the fans, the greatest fans in the world and to be a part of this day knowing this is one of the greatest legacies of all sports, the Pittsburgh Steelers. It's great to celebrate all the Super Bowls until now and knowing that they got a good chance for one this fall."
