Steelers update season ticket holders on preseason, safety measures

Through an email sent from the team on Wednesday, the Steelers continued to keep their season ticket holders updated on plans for the 2020 season. The communication included updates on preseason games as well as safety protocols and procedures that have been put in place at Heinz Field for the upcoming season.

While there has not yet been a determination by the NFL as to whether or not there will be changes to some or all of the preseason schedule, the team let its season ticket holders know in the email that it had determined that it "will not be hosting fans this year for the preseason at Heinz Field. Thus, you will be refunded for both preseason games. There is nothing you need to do at this time as your refund will be automatically processed by the same method you used to make your payment. If you sold or transferred any preseason tickets, those transactions will be automatically cancelled."

The team is also working with public health officials and the NFL on plans for fans to safely attend regular season games. These initial steps to provide a safe environment, including the following:

• Touchless restroom facilities.

• Contactless payment options at all concession stands.

• Mobile ticketing procedures that will include the capability of easy transfer of tickets as well as receiving information regarding health and safety measures before arriving at Heinz Field through the Steelers Mobile App.

• Installation of sanitizing stations throughout Heinz Field.

Also in the email, the team reiterated that it is providing season ticket holders the option to apply for a full refund for the 2020 season, while not losing their ability to renew their season ticket location for the 2021 season or any associated seat license. Season ticket holders can apply for the refund online via a link provided in the email.
