Steelers Promote LB Donovan Woods to Active Roster
PITTSBURGH ─ The Steelers promoted second-year LB Donovan Woods to their active roster today. Woods had spent the first 10 weeks of the season on the team's practice squad.
Woods (6-2, 230) originally signed with the Steelers in 2008 as an undrafted rookie out of Oklahoma State. He made the Steelers' active roster coming out of training camp as a rookie and played in a total of five games before being placed on the team's practice squad for the remainder of the season.
Woods was in training camp with the Steelers in 2009, but was released during the final preseason roster cuts. He will wear uniform No. 95.
The Steelers made room on their active roster for Woods by releasing fourth-year LB Arnold Harrison. Harrison had recorded seven special teams tackles for the Steelers this season.
