The Steelers placed wide receiver Plaxico Burress on the team's Reserve/Injured List due to a shoulder injury, the team announced today.
Burress was in his 12th year in the league and his seventh season with Pittsburgh (2000-04, 2012-13). He has started 138-of-148 regular season games played for three teams after being selected by the Steelers in the first round (eighth overall) of the 2000 NFL Draft out of Michigan State. Burress has 553 career receptions for 8,499 yards and 64 touchdowns during the regular season.
To fill the roster spot, Pittsburgh signed wide receiver Tyler Shaw (6-0, 180), an undrafted rookie free agent from Northwest Missouri State who was cut by the Arizona Cardinals on August 6, 2013.
