The Pittsburgh Steelers have hired former cornerback Chidi Iwuomaas the team's BLESTO Scout, it was announced today. The team's former BLESTO Scout, Mike Butler, will now serve as a college scout.
Iwuoma comes to the Steelers after serving as the Assistant Director of Student-Athlete Development at the University of California from 2010-12. Prior to that, Iwuoma worked in Cal's Athletic Study Center from 2009-10, where he assisted student-athletes with a wide range of academic topics.
Iwuoma spent seven seasons as a cornerback in the NFL from 2001-07, and he was a member of the Steelers' Super Bowl XL team.
