The Pittsburgh Steelers will kick off their regular season on Sunday, September 8 with a game in Atlanta against the Falcons. A series of Steelers initiatives are planned for the week leading up to the game to allow fans in Pittsburgh and beyond to gear up for regular season play. The week of activities is made possible for fans by dedicated partners Breeo, Bud Light, Giant Eagle, and UPMC, who together help kick off the Steelers season. "Kickoff week is unlike any other week," said Steelers Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Ryan Huzjak. "As fan anticipation builds, we're excited to offer a series of events, activities and initiatives that provide Steelers fans – whether they are here in Pittsburgh or located across the globe – ways to channel their enthusiasm for the start of Steelers regular season football."
2024 Steelers Season Kickoff Week offerings include:
36th Annual Run Walk 5K
Offered in person and virtually, the race is a highlight of the Kickoff and Rib Festival taking place through September 2 at Acrisure Stadium. The race raises funds for the Art Rooney Scholarship Fund and features a 3.1-mile level course on the North Shore highlighted by a finish on the Acrisure Stadium warning track. Steelers Legends and Hall of Honor members Rocky Bleier and Larry Brown with be honorary chairs.
Steelers Nation Unite Road Warriors
Steelers Nation Unite Road Warriors returns on the road in Atlanta, where the Steelers will take on the Falcons. The party will feature an appearance by Hall of Famer, Mel Blount, a full menu of food and drinks, and SNR broadcasting live.
Student Rush Watch Party
This new event is free for college students to attend and will feature a big screen to watch the Steelers take on the Falcons, mini-golf and other yard games, exclusive giveaways, and an energizing gameday atmosphere complete with a DJ. Super Bowl XLIII MVP Santonio Holmes will also join in for a Steelers meet-and-greet. While registration is not required, we encourage fans to RSVP in advance to receive exclusive event updates and be entered into special prize drawings.
Kickoff Sweepstakes
Fans can enter to win a trip to Pittsburgh to attend the Steelers home game at Acrisure Stadium on September 22 against the Los Angeles Chargers. The winner will receive: 2 game tickets to the Steelers vs. Chargers game, a 2-night stay in Pittsburgh, and roundtrip airfare for 2.
Collect all 6 Kickoff Week Signs
Starting on gameday, September 8, a limited number of kickoff week signs will be available at 30 Giant Eagle locations around the region. Additional signs will be available at all Steelers Pro Shop locations (Grove City, Tanger Outlets, Acrisure Stadium), and at the Steelers Student Rush Watch Party in Schenley Plaza. Steelers Bars Presented by Dubliner. This new initiative allows Steelers fans across the globe to search an interactive map to locate a bar to watch the game with other Steelers fans. No matter where fans are, they can be a part of Steelers gameday.
*Paint the Town Gold *In celebration of the return of Steelers football season, skylines across the city will be lit up gold. Additionally, the iconic Duquesne Incline will be Steelers branded and statues across the city will "wave" the Terrible Towel. Fans are encouraged to wear their black & gold on Friday and display their towels and rally cards throughout the week.
