Steelers 2018 Community Relations Initiatives Announced

PITTSBURGH – The Pittsburgh Steelers' strong commitment to the Western Pennsylvania community, a fabric of the organization that dates back to 1933 when Arthur J. Rooney, Sr., founded the team, continues in 2018 as the team announced several of its longstanding community relations programs for the season.

Below is a look at several of the team's community relations events planned for 2018 that are open to the public and its corresponding beneficiary, registration and/or ticket required:

Second Annual Charity Walk: Saturday, July 28 at Saint Vincent College

Steelers 5K: Sunday, September 2 on North Shore

Rock Steelers Style*

  • UPMC Sports Medicine Concussion Program and the Cancer Caring Center

Santonio Holmes Strikes Against Sickle Cell*

  • The III & Long Foundation

Bid for Hope at Off the Hook Restaurant*

The Steelers will once again participate in community relations events that benefit veterans and their families, patients and families of Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC and those in need during the winter months and holidays through the below annual opportunities (closed to the public):

  • Project Bundle-Up Shopping Trip
  • Thanksgiving Turkey Giveaways
