Pittsburgh will play host to the 14th Annual Veritix Sports Facilities & Franchises conference and the 4th Annual Ticketing Symposium from June 10-12.
Steelers' President Art Rooney II will be the featured interview on Wednesday, June 11, and is looking forward to showcasing the city to the sports professionals.
"Number one, as we talked about recently, Pittsburgh is known as a sports town," said Rooney. "I think it's part of the brand of the city. Attracting a conference like this that will bring a lot of people from the sports industry is a great opportunity to show the city to a lot of different people."
Among the activities will be a tour and reception at Heinz Field, seeing the Pirates play the Chicago Cubs at PNC Park and a tour of Consol Energy Center.
"I think it goes along with some of the conversations we were having about bringing the Super Bowl to Pittsburgh," said Rooney. "We have a lot of great assets here, particularly sports related assets that I think around the country are not as well known as we would like them to be. It's a great opportunity to bring people in and let them see what we have here and hopefully lay some ground work to bring more events and conferences like this back to the city."
Included in the program will be ticketing directives and best practices, as well as roundtable discussions, interviews and case studies regarding sponsorship opportunities, fan engagement, venue technology and more.
"It will be a good opportunity to share with the attendees some thoughts about how we have operated and answer some questions along those lines for them," said Rooney.
