LATROBE, Pa.  - Key takeaways from today's practice at Saint Vincent College:

TWO-MINUTE DRILL: QB Ben Roethlisberger took the first-team offense 59 yards for a touchdown in the allotted 1:33 with one timeout at his disposal. The last play was a 3-yard TD pass to WR Antonio Brown off a snap with nine seconds remaining and the timeout having been exhausted. Roethlisberger was 6-for-9 for 65 yards and the touchdown, not counting two clock-stopping spikes … Brown caught four passes for 49 yards and the touchdown … DE Cam Heyward and LB Jarvis Jones shared a "sack" of Roethlisberger … Rookie CB Doran Grant got some work with the first-team defense, including snaps opposite Brown … CB Brandon Boykin also got some first-team reps … QB Landry Jones' two-minute series included a dropped interception by LB James Harrison, a sack by LB Bud Dupree and an interception by CB B.W. Webb.

The Pittsburgh Steelers put in their last day of practice before heading to Jacksonville to take on the Jaguars in Week 1 of the preseason.

SEVEN SHOTS:** Roethlisberger hit TE Heath Miller, Brown and RB Josh Harris for conversions/touchdowns in the practice opening, 2-yard, 11-on-11 drill … Harris also ran for a touchdown ... Jones had a TD/conversion pass to QB/WR Tyler Murphy on a play on which a "sack" might just as easily have been awarded to S Ian Wild … The offense won the drill, 5-2.

PASS UNDER PRESSURE: WR Shakim Phillips made a nice sideline catch on a pass Jones dropped over Harrison, a "varsity throw," in head coach Mike Tomlin's estimation … Roethlisberger hooked up with WR Markus Wheaton for a deep-ball TD on a play that covered approximately 70 yards … CB Kevin Fogg picked off Jones.

WELCOME BACK: S Mike Mitchell played a couple of snaps in an 11-on-11, non-tackling passing drill, the first time Mitchell performed in pads in training camp.

HOUSEKEEPING: S Robert Golden, CB Senquez Golson, CB Cortez Allen, S Ross Ventrone, DT Daniel McCullers, TE Jesse James, LB Lawrence Timmons and LB Vince Williams were among the players either not practicing or not participating fully due to either an injury or a coach's decision.
