TROY POLAMALUof the Pittsburgh Steelers is theGMC SIERRA DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEKfor games played on September 14 - 15, the NFL announced today.
 
Polamalu recorded his second interception of the season, defended two passes and made one tackle for a loss to help the Steelers defeat the Cleveland Browns 10-6. Polamalu's interception prevented a Cleveland touchdown on the final play of the first half to keep the game scoreless.
 
Polamaluwas selected from among five finalists by voters on NFL.com/gmc.  The other finalists were linebacker
KIRK MORRISON of the Oakland Raiders, defensive endJUSTIN TUCK of the New York Giants, linebackerPATRICK WILLIS of the San Francisco 49ers and cornerbackCHARLES WOODSON **of the Green Bay Packers.
 
After the regular season, five players will be nominated for GMC Sierra Defensive Player of the Year honors.  Fans can vote for the winner on NFL.com/gmc throughout the month of January.
