BUCKHANNON, W.Va. -- Coach Jonas Jackson announced the addition of former NFL running back Willie Parker to the West Virginia Wesleyan coaching staff on Monday.
Parker joins the Wesleyan staff after spending six seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers (2004-09), where he was part of a pair of Super Bowl winning teams. In Super Bowl XL, Parker's 75-yard touchdown run early in the second half helped the Steelers defeat the Seattle Seahawks, 21-10. During his six seasons with the Steelers, Parker rushed for 5,378 yards on 1,253 carries and scored 24 touchdowns.
The Clinton, N.C., native played his college ball at the University of North Carolina.
Parker will work as an assistant with the Bobcats' offense.
