Matakevich returns to practice

Linebacker Tyler Matakevich returned to practice today but remains on the Reserve/Injured List.

The Steelers have a 21-day window to either activate him to the 53-man roster, or he remains on the Reserve/Injured List the remainder of the year.

Matakevich was placed on the Reserve/Injured List after suffering a hamstring injury against the Denver Broncos in Week 2.

Matakevich recorded two special teams tackles this season prior to his injury.

Matakevich, who was selected by the Steelers in the seventh round of the 2016 NFL Draft, signed a one-year contract with the Steelers in mid-July. He spent his first four seasons in the NFL in Pittsburgh and the last four seasons with the Buffalo Bills.

For his career, Matakevich has appeared in 131 games, starting one. He has 134 career tackles, including 97 solo stops, four passes defensed and one interception.
