Jarvis Jones returns to practice

The Steelers returned from their weekend off today, and when they took the field for their scheduled workout, Jarvis Jones was practicing along with them.

Jones, the Steelers' No. 1 pick in 2013, opened the season as the starting right outside linebacker. In the season's third game – against the Panthers in Carolina on Sept. 21 – Jones dislocated his right wrist and was placed on the injured reserve/designated to return list.

By activating Jones, the Steelers opened a three-week window where they will be able to practice with 54 players until making a decision on when/if to add him to the 53-man roster.

The Steelers have until Monday, Dec. 15 to make that decision, and if Jones still is not ready to play at that date he would be placed on injured reserve for the remainder of the 2014 season.

In his two-plus games this season, Jones had two sacks and one forced fumble.

The Steelers host the New Orleans Saints on Nov. 30; travel to Cincinnati to play the Bengals on Dec. 7; visit Atlanta to face the Falcons on Dec. 14; host the Kansas City Chiefs on Dec. 21; and close the regular season by hosting the Bengals on Dec. 28.
