Late Steelers legend Tunch Ilkin will be among those inducted into the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame, Robert "Tick" Cloherty Western Chapter, at the 2025 Annual Induction Ceremony.
Along with Ilkin, Steelers Orthopedic Surgeon James Bradley, MD will also be inducted.
Ilkin was drafted by the Steelers in the sixth round of the 1980 NFL Draft out of Indiana State and spent 13 seasons starting at offensive tackle. He was selected to two Pro Bowls (1989-90) and was a steady force on the offensive line throughout his illustrious career.
Ilkin was inducted into the Steelers Hall of Honor as a member of the Class of 2021. After his playing career he went on to be a key member of the Steelers radio broadcast team, until his passing in 2021.
In addition to his contribution to the team on the field, during his playing days and beyond he was committed to the Pittsburgh Community, with the Light of Life Rescue Mission his main passion.
Bradley, who has been the Steelers head orthopedic surgeon for over 35 years, adds the Hall of Fame to a long list of honors he has received.
Bradley is a past recipient of the Arthur C. Rettig Award for Academic Excellence, presented by the NFL Physicians Social (NFLPS) to an NFL team physician for academic excellence in research with the goal to advance health and player safety in the NFL. He also has received the Ralph C. Wilde Leadership Award. The award is presented by Allegheny County Medical Society Foundation (ACMSF) and recognizes a physician who demonstrates exceptional skill in their clinical care of patients.
Former Steelers running back Merril Hoge will also receive the William Campbell Award, presented to an individual for their work in the community. Hoge will be honored for his work with the Chuck Noll Foundation for Brain Injury Research and the foundation will receive a $5,000 award.
Hoge is a member of the board of directors for the foundation and has provided leadership and dedication to support player safety.
