PITTSBURGH STEELERS 2009 SIXTH-ROUND DRAFT PICK RA'SHON 'SONNY' HARRIS DEFENSIVE END 205th Overall Conference Call
Ra'Shon "Sonny" Harris
Defensive Tackle, University of Oregon
6th Round - 205th Overall
Sonny Harris:
Are you happy with where you went [in the draft]?
I'm happy I got picked. I'm happy, but I'm not satisfied. I'm ready to play. I'm very excited. This is the second-best day of my life.
What was the best day?
Having my little girl.
Congratulations. How old is she?
She's two. She just turned two last Sunday as a matter of fact.
Did they talk to you about playing inside or outside here?
I talked to Coach Mitch[ell] and Coach Mitch said he would like me to play out. He thinks I can play outside with my ability. But I just want to play.
Have you ever played in a 3-4?
I've never played a 3-4. I feel like I can do it. I want to do. I'm so excited.
Had you had any contact with any other teams during the last two days?
I had contacts with Jacksonville. I had contacts with St. Louis earlier in the day. My agent was hearing things. I just got off the phone with my agent not too long ago and he said he thought Jacksonville was going to take me with the next [pick]. The Steelers beat them to it. I'm happy.
