It's a day a football player will never forget, the day their phone rang and on the other end was the NFL team that was about to draft them.
"You are just waiting there for the call," said Burress. "I remember it like yesterday. I was sitting on the bed with my agent. My family was downstairs, I was upstairs. Coach (Bill) Cowher called me and was like how would you like to be a Pittsburgh Steelers. I don't remember what I said. When they announced my name, I took off running downstairs. My family had no idea I was going to Pittsburgh because it hadn't been announced yet. I think I remember them saying with the 8th pick Plax … and I took off running. I didn't even hear the rest of my name. I took off running down the street. I was like I can't believe that just happened.
"My friends had four or five hats, four through nine or 10. One of my boys had a Pittsburgh hat. We put it on. I cried, my mom cried. It was an unbelievable feeling. It really was."
