ANTONIO BROWN
Wide Receiver
So many times in critical situations, Ben Roethlisberger looked for Antonio Brown, and so it was no surprise when he did just that on a second-and-9 from the Steelers 21-yard line with about three minutes left in a 7-3 game. Roethlisberger threw a back-shoulder pass to Brown, who made the catch, got away from cornerback Joe Haden and then put an inside-out move on safety Mike Adams before turning on the speed to complete the 79-yard touchdown play that iced the outcome Thursday night at Heinz Field.
Brown finished the night with five catches for 151 yards and that 79-yard touchdown in what turned into a 14-3 Steelers win. For that, Brown is the Steelers Digest Player of the Week.
Also considered were Ben Roethlisberger, who completed 16-of-21 for 280 yards with two touchdowns and one interception while playing the entire second half on a sprained left ankle; Jason Worilds, who had nine tackles, two sacks and a forced fumble in a start for the injured LaMarr Woodley; William Gay, who had seven tackles, an interception in the end zone and three passes defensed; and Troy Polamalu, who had eight tackles, including one for loss, an interception and two passes defensed.
