BEN ROETHLISBERGER**
Quarterback
He deserved better, certainly in the course of an afternoon in which he cracked the 30,000-yard passing plateau for his career. It was an afternoon in which his first pass traveled 40 yards and was right on the money only to have it go through his receiver's hands, an afternoon when he was sacked five times and the running game netted but 32 yards, an afternoon when he rarely was able to operate within a clean pocket.
In the final analysis, Ben Roethlisberger completed 21-of-33 for 191 yards with one touchdown and one interception, and those numbers mean he now has passed for 30,035 yards in his career. When asked about the milestone afterward, Roethlisberger said simply, "It comes in a loss, so it doesn't do anything for me."
Still, it's a statistically significant achievement, and so Ben Roethlisberger is the Steelers Digest Player of the Week.
Also considered were LaMarr Woodley, who had four tackles, including one for a loss, plus a sack; William Gay, who had three tackles and two passes defensed; Jarvis Jones, who had two tackles, both of which were for losses, plus a tackle on special teams; and Kelvin Beachum, who played more than three-and-a-half quarters at center following Maurkice Pouncey's injury.
