Around the NFL - Week 8

The Steelers may be off but the show must go on.

Following is a look at some of what's happening around the NFL today:

**

REDSKINS (4-3) at BENGALS (3-4):** Redskins quarterback Kirk Cousins has a passer rating of 100-plus in five of his past six road games. This one qualifies as such (it's in London). Washington linebacker Trent Murphy has six sacks in his last six games. Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton has a passer rating of over 100 and hasn't thrown an interception in his last four games. Cincinnati running back Jeremy Hill has 11 rushing touchdowns in his last 15 games (including playoffs) and is tied for the NFL lead in that category since 2014 with 24.

PATRIOTS (6-1) at BILLS (4-3): The Bills defeated the Patriots, 16-0, on Oct. 2 at New England and have a shot at their first series sweep since 1999. Buffalo quarterback Tyrod Taylor has a 99.5 passer rating, 13 passing TDs and three rushing touchdowns in his last nine AFC East starts. New England running back LeGarrette Blount is tied for the NFL lead in rushing touchdowns (eight). Patriots quarterback Tom Brady is 25-3 (.893) against Buffalo.

LIONS (4-3) at TEXANS (4-3): Detroit quarterback Matthew Stafford's 27,890 passing yards are the most by any player in the first 100 games of a career. Lions linebacker Tahir Whitehead has nine-plus tackles in six of his last seven games and ranks fourth in the NFL overall with 67. Houston has won five in a row at home. Texans quarterback Brock Osweiler is 4-0 as a starter at home with Houston. Texans linebacker Bernardrick McKinney is second in the NFL with 69 tackles.

CHIEFS (4-2) at COLTS (3-4):** Kansas City running back Spencer Ware is No. 3 in the NFL in yards from scrimmage per game (129.5). Chiefs cornerback Marcus Peters has 10 interceptions and a touchdown return in his last 13 games, including playoffs (seven interceptions and a touchdown return in his last seven road games, including playoffs). Indianapolis quarterback Andrew Luck has thrown for more than 300 yards in five of his last six home games and has 15 touchdown passes and a passer rating of 100.5 in that span. Colts linebacker Erik Walden is one of nine players in the NFL with five-plus sacks and two-plus forced fumbles.  

RAIDERS (5-1) at BUCCANEERS (3-3): Oakland has won four straight on the road and quarterback Derek Carr has won six of his last seven starts on the road. Raiders defensive end Khalil Mack has 13 sacks in his last 13 games. Tampa Bay wide receiver Mike Evans has a touchdown catch in five of his last six games. Bucs running back Jacquizz Rodgers has surpassed 100 yards from scrimmage in two straight games.

CHARGERS (3-4) at BRONCOS (5-2): Rookie fourth-round pick Devontae Booker takes over at running back for C.J. Anderson (knee) for the Broncos. Denver quarterback Trevor Siemian has thrown for seven touchdowns and hasn't been intercepted in his last four games. Chargers rookie defensive end Joey Bosa has four sacks in his first three NFL games. San Diego running back Melvin Gordon leads the NFL with 10 TDs (eight rushing, two receiving).

GREEN BAY (4-2) at ATLANTA (4-3): The Falcons are No. 2 in passing offense and No. 1 in total offense. The Packers are No. 1 in rushing defense and No. 7 in total defense. Atlanta quarterback Matt Ryan has a passer rating of 100-plus in seven of his past nine games and has thrown for 300-plus yards in four of his last five home games.

PHILADELPHIA (4-2) at DALLAS (5-1): Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz leads NFL rookies with eight touchdown passes and ranks second with 1,324 passing yards. Cowboys rookie quarterback Dak Prescott attempted his first 176 passes without being intercepted, the most to start a career, and will shoot for his sixth consecutive game with a passer rating of 100 or higher. Dallas running back Ezekiel Elliott is the first rookie in NFL history to rush for 130 or more yards in four consecutive games.
