Around the NFL

The Steelers are off but there's still plenty to keep an eye on today across the NFL, including three matchups in which each of the combatants has a record of .500 or better.

Following is a quick breakdown of those games:

BENGALS (4-2) at RAVENS (5-1), 1 p.m.
Cincinnati: The 23-point margin of victory in last Sunday's 34-11 decision over the Lions was the Bengals' largest since 2017 … Cincinnati is No. 21 in total offense (344.5 yards per game), but ranks third in red zone offense (touchdowns on 83.3 percent of its red zone possessions) and fifth in passing yards per play (8.84) … QB Joe Burrow has thrown at least two touchdown passes in each of the Bengals' first six games. The only other player to have accomplished that in his first or second season is Dan Marino (10 consecutive games to open 1984, his second NFL campaign) … WR Ja'Marr Chase leads NFL rookies in receiving yards (553) and receiving TDs (five), and leads the league in catches of 40 yards or longer (five) … DE Trey Hendrickson's 5.5 sacks would have tied for the team lead in Cincinnati last season … LB Logan Wilson leads the AFC and ranks second in the NFL with four interceptions … The Bengals are 53-5-2 since 2011 when scoring at least 25 points (7-4 under head coach Zac Taylor, including 2-0 this season).

Baltimore: The Ravens have swept the Bengals in two consecutive seasons and won five straight games in the series … Baltimore has won five in a row since losing on Sept. 13 at Las Vegas, 33-27, in overtime … The Ravens are No. 4 in total offense (421.7 yards per game) and No. 18 in total defense (359.3) … Baltimore is 79-19 since 2008 when rushing for at least 125 yards … The Ravens held the Chargers to 208 total net yards (26 rushing) in last Sunday's 34-6 victory in Baltimore … Lamar Jackson has a rushing or passing touchdown in 42 consecutive games, the longest active streak by a QB and the fifth-longest in NFL history … K Justin Tucker has converted 52 consecutive field goals in fourth quarters or overtimes and is 16-for-16 in his career in the final minute of regulation. Tucker is also the most accurate kicker in NFL history, having succeed on 90.75 of his career field goal attempts (304-for-335), including a 66-yard effort that beat the Lions, 19-17, on Sept. 26 in Detroit.

CHIEFS (3-3) at TITANS (4-2), 1 p.m.
Kansas City: QB Patrick Mahomes leads the NFL with 18 touchdown passes (two in last Sunday's 31-13 victory at Washington). Mahomes and Burrow are the only NFL QBs who have thrown for two or more TDs in six games this season … Kansas City converted 11 third downs at Washington, the third-most by an NFL team in a game this season, and leads the league with a 60.3-percent success rate on third downs this season … Chiefs head coach Andy Reid has a career winning percentage of .627 (.631 at home and .623 on the road) … Kansas City is No. 28 in total defense (410.5 yards per game) and No. 28 in points per game against (29.3).

Tennessee: The Titans are No. 11 in the NFL in total offense (384.7), including No. 3 in rushing (164.2), and No. 24 in total defense (384.0) … RB Derrick Henry had 143 yards rushing and three TDs in Monday night's 34-31 victory over Buffalo in Nashville, Henry's third game with three rushing touchdowns this season. Henry leads the NFL with 783 rushing yards and 10 rushing touchdowns. He's the third player in NFL history with 750 or more rushing yards and 10 or more rushing TDs in the first six games of a season … The Titans beat the Bills when they were 4-2 and lost to the Jets when they were 0-3 (27-24 in overtime on Oct. 3) … QB Ryan Tannehill has thrown for five touchdowns with zero interceptions and has a passer rating of 95.9 in three career games against Kansas City.

BEARS (3-3) at BUCCANEERS (5-1), 4:25 p.m.
Chicago: Bears LBs Khalil Mack (six) and Robert Quinn (5.5) had the most sacks of any NFL duo (11.5) through six games (Cleveland's Myles Garrett and Jadeveon Clowney had combined fo 11 at that juncture) … The Bears are 21-9 in the 30 games in which Mack has registered at least half of a sack … Chicago is tied for the NFL lead with 21 sacks, including 20 over the last five games … The Bears have allowed 10 touchdowns in their last five games and lead the NFC with an average of 18.0 points against in that span … K Cairo Santos has the NFL's longest active field goal streak, a Bears-record 34 in a row (7-for-7 this season) … The Bears beat the Buccaneers, 20-19, on Oct. 8, 2020, at Soldier Field … QB Justin Fields is 2-2 as Chicago's starter. He's completed 53.3 percent of his passes for 632 yards, with two touchdowns and three interceptions. Fields has also rushed for 102 yards and one score.

Tampa Bay: The Buccaneers and Chiefs are the only two teams with 250 or more passing yards in every game this season. QB Tom Brady leads the NFL with 2,064 passing yards and ranks second in touchdown passes with 17 (Mahomes, 18) … Tampa Bay is No. 3 in points per game (32.5) … RB Leonard Fournette had 127 yards from scrimmage (81 rushing, 46 receiving) in a 28-22 victory on Oct. 14 at Philadelphia. Fournette has 100 or more yards from scrimmage in three consecutive games … The Bucs are No. 1 in the NFL in rushing defense (54.8 yards per game).
