Friday was a day to remember for Kristina Valdez, a 17-year old from Laredo, Texas who loves the Steelers.
Valdez, who has leukemia, was the guest of the Steelers at practice at the UPMC Rooney Sports Complex through the Make-A-Wish Foundation, meeting her favorite players, taking pictures - including some awesome selfies - and getting plenty of autographs.
"This has always been a dream of mine," said Valdez. "I was born and raised to be a Steelers fan. I watch them on television, but this is a once in a lifetime thing. I just wanted to do this."
Valdez will also be at Sunday's game at Heinz Field, ready to enjoy her first game in Pittsburgh.
"Being from Texas we don't get all of the games on television. When we do, I tell everyone not to bother me. Being able to go to the game is going to be special.
"This is just so different. The players look so tiny on television. This is really exciting. I can't wait to go to the game. I am really excited."
When asked who her favorite player is, she smiled from ear to ear.
"They're all my favorite player."
