It's been an interesting preseason for long snapper Greg Warren to say the least. Not only has he been working with two punters, with Brad Wing and Jordan Berry battling for the spot, but he is now working with his third kicker of the preseason.
The Steelers traded for veteran kicker Josh Scobee on Monday in exchange for a sixth-round pick after losing yet another kicker for the year. Garrett Hartley, who was signed after Shaun Suisham was lost for the year with an ACL injury, suffered a season-ending injury against the Bills on Saturday.
"It doesn't make it the easiest, but it's part of the game," said Warren of working with his third kicker. "We deal with it and move forward. It's good when you can bring in a guy like Josh and make it seamless."
Warren said it won't take much time for the two to get acclimated being that Scobee is in his 12th season and knows the ropes.
"His resume speaks for itself," said Warren. "That consistency he brought is the reason why he stayed around. Great guy, team player.
"With a guy like Josh, I am saying the first day we get together we'll be good. We will have 15-20 minutes together and I think we will be good to go."
