Triple Take Mock Draft 2.0
Triple Take Mock Draft 2.0
The Triple Take team of Mike Prisuta, Matt Williamson and Rob King (Dale Lolley was unavailable this week) have released Mock Draft 2.0.
Don't forget to follow along with their position-by-position draft previews as we lead up to the NFL Draft here.
The opinions of these Steelers Radio Network personalities do not reflect the views of the Steelers organization.
Matt's Pick: Cam Ward, QB, Miami
Analysis: This is just a bet that the best quarterback in this draft class ends up going first overall. It may or may not be to Tennessee, however.
Mike's Pick: Cam Ward, QB, Miami
Analysis: I wanted to see what it looked like with a quarterback at the very top this time. If that's the position at first overall, Ward is the guy.
Rob's Pick: Cam Ward, QB, Miami
Matt's Pick: Travis Hunter, CB/WR, Colorado
Analysis: Myles Garrett could be on the move, which could make this pick lean towards Abdul Carter. But Carter got bad medical news at the Combine. Meanwhile, Hunter is both the best wide receiver and best cornerback in this draft.
Mike's Pick: Shedeur Sanders, QB, Colorado
Analysis: The Browns have only invested a first-round pick in a QB three times since 1999 and haven't done so since Baker Mayfield in 2018. But they still lack stability at the position, which might make one of the two perceived best-of-the-bunch quarterbacks available tough to pass up.
Rob's Pick: Abdul Carter, Edge, Penn State
Matt's Pick: Shedeur Sanders, QB, Colorado
Analysis: This seems early for Sanders, but as it stands right now, New York doesn't have any sort of answer at the quarterback position and history shows that this position goes early.
Mike's Pick: Abdul Carter, Edge, Penn State
Analysis: The franchise of Lawrence Taylor could do a lot worse than selecting what might just be the draft's best player.
Rob's Pick: Travis Hunter, CB/WR, Colorado
Matt's Pick: Abdul Carter, Edge, Penn State
Analysis: The Patriots biggest needs are at offensive line and wide receiver. But they also are not lacking for needs elsewhere. They snare Carter here who only falls into their lap because of his injury situation.
Mike's Pick: Will Campbell, OT, LSU
Analysis: Campbell might not be a no-brainer, but if the Pats play it this way, Campbell should perform well enough to keep potential criticism of the pick at an arm's length.
Rob's Pick: Will Campbell, OT, LSU
Matt's Pick: Will Johnson, CB, Michigan
Analysis: Jacksonville has been looking for a second cornerback for some time now. Drafting Johnson turns that spot from a weakness to a huge strength.
Mike's Pick: Travis Hunter, WR/CB, Colorado
Analysis: Is he a cornerback? Is he a wide receiver? Is he one of the most intriguing players on the board? Yes.
Rob's Pick: Will Johnson, CB, Michigan
Matt's Pick: Tetairoa McMillan, WR, Arizona
Analysis: Maybe the Raiders go the veteran route at quarterback and then give that quarterback the pairing of McMillan and Brock Bowers to throw to for the foreseeable future.
Mike's Pick: Ashton Jeanty, RB, Boise State
Analysis: Running backs are back in vogue. Now that they are, Jeanty is about as close to a sure bet as you can get in Vegas.
Rob's Pick: Shedeur Sanders, QB, Colorado
Matt's Pick: Mason Graham, DT, Michigan
Analysis: The Jets could go a lot of different directions here, but Graham paired with Quinnen Williams on the interior of their defensive line is just too good to pass up.
Mike's Pick: Mason Graham, DT, Michigan
Analysis: Dominance in the defensive trenches is, likewise, making a comeback (the Eagles have seen to that). The Jets can take a major step in that direction with Graham.
Rob's Pick: Mason Graham, DT, Michigan
Matt's Pick: Jalon Walker, Edge, Georgia
Analysis: Carolina's defense needs a lot of work. Grabbing an explosive edge rusher with the ability to also play off the ball is a great start to the rebuild on that side of the ball.
Mike's Pick: Jalon Walker, Edge, Georgia
Analysis: It's not as much about numbers with Georgia defenders as it is potential. Get 'em when you can.
Rob's Pick: Mykel Williams, Edge, Georgia
Matt's Pick: Will Campbell, OT, LSU
Analysis: The Saints went offensive tackle in the first round last year and do it again in 2025 by keeping Campbell in the bayou as a cornerstone of their offensive front.
Mike's Pick: Mykel Williams, Edge, Georgia
Analysis: See "8. Carolina" above.
Rob's Pick: Tetairoa McMillan, WR, Arizona
Matt's Pick: Armand Membou, OT, Missouri
Analysis: The Bears offensive line could get much needed reinforcements via free agency and they have plenty of money to spend. But a versatile big man like Membou would find a home at guard or center in Chicago.
Mike's Pick: Tyler Booker, OG, Alabama
Analysis: If the Bears are looking for a "Monster of the Midway-Next Generation" type, Booker has the necessary nasty.
Rob's Pick: Josh Simmons, OT Ohio State
Matt's Pick: Josh Simmons, OT, Ohio State
Analysis: Trent Williams will return for at least one more season, but drafting his successor now in Simmons seems like a very logical move for San Francisco.
Mike's Pick: Will Johnson, CB, Michigan
Analysis: Pro comparisons have been made with Patrick Surtain, the 2024 NFL Defensive Player of the Year.
Rob's Pick: Walter Nolen, DT, Ole Miss
Matt's Pick: Ashton Jeanty, RB, Boise State
Analysis: The Cowboys top offseason goals should be to get better running the football and stopping the run. Drafting an elite ball carrier is sure a good start.
Mike's Pick: Tetairoa McMillan, WR, Arizona
Analysis: He had 10 catches for 304 yards and four touchdowns … against New Mexico. If Dallas is looking for splash, the Cowboys need look no further.
Rob's Pick: Ashton Jeanty, RB, Boise State
Matt's Pick: Kelvin Banks Jr., OT, Texas
Analysis: Whether Banks settles in at guard or tackle, Miami just needs to attack their offensive line. Banks would be a welcome addition.
Mike's Pick: Armand Membou, OT, Missouri
Analysis: He was a show-stealer at the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis, impressive enough that it really doesn't matter if he ends up at guard or tackle.
Rob's Pick: Tyler Booker, G, Alabama
Matt's Pick: Tyler Warren, TE, Penn State
Analysis: Warren could go higher than this. Indianapolis needs more on defense than offense, but the Colts have been piecing the tight end position together for years. That would end with the drafting of Warren.
Mike's Pick: Tyler Warren, TE, Penn State
Analysis: Every year, there are a few players who seem perfect for, if not destined to, end up with a particular team. Warren-to-the-Colts is a scenario that makes sense.
Rob's Pick: Tyler Warren, TE, Penn State
Matt's Pick: Mike Green, Edge, Marshall
Analysis: The Falcons have truly been looking for more pass-rush now for decades. Green is a highly productive explosive player that could finally solve that need.
Mike's Pick: Mike Green, Edge, Marshall
Analysis: The Falcons reportedly sent only defensive coaches to Indy and interviewed only defensive players. They'll find what they came for in Green.
Rob's Pick: James Pearce Jr., Edge, Tennessee
Matt's Pick: Shemar Stewart, Edge, Texas A&M
Analysis: This pick is likely to be on the defensive side of the ball, especially reinforcing Arizona's defensive front. Stewart is dripping with ability but needs to translate that better to the football field.
Mike's Pick: James Pearce Jr., Edge, Tennessee
Analysis: Length and speed coming off the edge. His floor is a situational pass-rusher from Day One on his way up.
Rob's Pick: Mike Green, Edge, Marshall
Matt's Pick: Walter Nolen, DT, Mississippi
Analysis: Nolen is a very talented interior defender and could kickstart Cincinnati's rebuild on this side of the ball. Expect the Bengals to go defense early and often.
Mike's Pick: Kenneth Grant, DT, Michigan
Analysis: The Bengals have a new defensive coordinator. It would surprise no one if they soon began collecting new defensive players.
Rob's Pick: Kenneth Grant, DT, Michigan
Matt's Pick: Tyler Booker, OG, Alabama
Analysis: The interior of Seattle's offensive line was a real problem area last year. Booker projects as a plug and play guard.
Mike's Pick: Shemar Stewart, Edge, Texas A&M
Analysis: He's still figuring out how to turn disruption into production, but Stewart appeared to be well on his way to doing so during Senior Bowl Week.
Rob's Pick: Jahdae Barron, CB, Texas
Matt's Pick: Jihaad Campbell, LB, Alabama
Analysis: Edge pass-rush help could also be in play here, but off the ball linebacker is Tampa Bay's biggest need. A linebacker first, Campbell also could boost the Bucs pass-rush.
Mike's Pick: Jihaad Campbell, LB, Alabama
Analysis: If running backs are making a comeback, can a new appreciation of run-stuffing, off-the-ball linebackers be far behind?
Rob's Pick: Jihaad Campbell, LB, Alabama
Matt's Pick: Colston Loveland, TE, Michigan
Analysis: Loveland is a fantastic receiving weapon and matches up very well with young Bo Nix. And Sean Payton would use Loveland's abilities very well.
Mike's Pick: Omarion Hampton, RB, North Carolina
Analysis: After running a 4.46 40-yard dash at the Combine, Hampton has seemingly checked the final box that he needed to check.
Rob's Pick: Colston Loveland, TE, Michigan
Matt's Pick: Kenneth Grant, DT, Michigan
Analysis: Due to injury, Grant didn't work out in Indianapolis. But he might have put on a show at his size. The Steelers gladly insert Grant into the middle of their defensive front.
Mike's Pick: Walter Nolen, DT, Mississippi
Analysis: Nolen can become a more consistent finisher, but as NFL Network analyst Daniel Jeremiah noted, "There's a lot to dream on with the tools he brings to the table."
Rob's Pick: Emeka Egbuka, WR, Ohio State
Matt's Pick: Luther Burden III, WR, Missouri
Analysis: The Chargers need more explosive weaponry for Justin Herbert. His 2023 tape was much more impressive than last year, but Burden has a ton of upside to pair with Ladd McConkey.
Mike's Pick: Colston Loveland, TE, Michigan
Analysis: A Michigan Man selects a Michigan Man. In other news, dog bites man.
Rob's Pick: Matthew Golden, WR, Texas
Matt's Pick: Mykel Williams, Edge, Georgia
Analysis: Green Bay has a strong tendency of drafting defense in the first round and to get a player with Williams' rare traits this late is just too good to pass up for the Packers.
Mike's Pick: Jahdae Barron, CB, Texas
Analysis: Perhaps no one has come farther from last season to this season than Barron, who was projected as a Day 3 prospect only a year ago. Not anymore.
Rob's Pick: Matthew Golden, WR, Texas
Matt's Pick: Shavon Revel, CB, East Carolina
Analysis: The Vikings cornerback room could be in store for a total overhaul. Revel has elite traits for the position and if he proves that injuries are no longer an issue for him, Revel might be selected much higher than 24th overall.
Mike's Pick: Nick Emmanwori, S, South Carolina
Analysis: Testing in Indianapolis resulted in a 4.38 40-yard dash, a broad jump of 43", a vertical leap of 11'6", and he measured out at 6-foot-3 and 220 pounds. "Freakish" isn't an overstatement.
Rob's Pick: Malaki Starks, S, Georgia
Matt's Pick: Matthew Golden, WR, Texas
Analysis: Offensive line could be addressed here, but Stefon Diggs is a free agent and Tank Dell is coming off another major injury.
Mike's Pick: Kelvin Banks Jr., OT, Texas
Analysis: He pass protects like an offensive tackle and he gets out in front of screens like a guard. He's as smooth a mover as they come.
Rob's Pick: Kelvin Banks Jr., OT, Texas
Matt's Pick: Josh Conerly Jr., OT, Oregon
Analysis: The Rams could lose their left tackle in free agency. They waste no time replacing him by drafting Conerly.
Mike's Pick: Josh Simmons, OT, Ohio State
Analysis: Simmons only played six games in 2024, and he underwent patellar tendon surgery. But the medical reports broadcast during Combine coverage on the NFL Network were glowing. Full speed ahead.
Rob's Pick: Armand Membou, OT, Missouri
Matt's Pick: Donovan Ezeiruaku, Edge, Boston College
Analysis: The Ravens could reinforce their offensive line or secondary, but a true pass-rusher such as Ezeiruaku could go a long way to putting opponents away late in games.
Mike's Pick: Donovan Jackson, OG, Ohio State
Analysis: Simmons' loss was Jackson's gain. After moving from left guard to left tackle midway through Ohio State's run to the national championship, Jackson is now position flexible.
Rob's Pick: Grey Zabel, OT, North Dakota State
Matt's Pick: James Pierce Jr., Edge, Tennessee
Analysis: Detroit has Aidan Hutchinson coming back from injury, but opposite him is lacking. Even if he only plays on passing downs, Pierce could make an impact.
Mike's Pick: Donovan Ezeiruaku, Edge, Boston College
Analysis: NFL Network analyst Daniel Jeremiah maintained Ezeiruaku has "a body type that's perfect for a pass rusher." Jeremiah's NFL Network colleague, Charles Davis, insisted Ezeiruaku is also responsible and committed when it comes to stopping the run.
Rob's Pick: Nic Scourton, Edge, Texas A&M
Matt's Pick: Emeka Egbuka, WR, Ohio State
Analysis: Egbuka profiles as a high-end number two NFL wide out. Jayden Daniels would greatly appreciate that and these two could grow together.
Mike's Pick: Malaki Starks, S, Georgia
Analysis: He can play in center field or down in the box and he can cover the slot. What else have you got?
Rob's Pick: Shemar Stewart, Edge, Texas A&M
Matt's Pick: Malaki Starks, S, Georgia
Analysis: The Bills safety play was lacking last year after about a decade of great play at this position. Buffalo nabs the best player at that position in Starks.
Mike's Pick: Matthew Golden, WR, Texas
Analysis: Imagine a guy who can run a 4.29 40-yard dash running under Josh Allen's passes.
Rob's Pick: Derrick Harmon, DT, Oregon
Matt's Pick: Donovan Jackson, OL, Ohio State
Analysis: The Chiefs could be in the market for a tackle and guard this offseason. Jackson proved last year that he can play either spot but is at his best on the inside.
Mike's Pick: Emeka Egbuka, WR, Ohio State
Analysis: The Wide Receiver Factory in Columbus, Ohio just keeps churning them out. Like Georgia defenders, you need not over-think Buckeyes wideouts.
Rob's Pick: Josh Conerly Jr., OT, Oregon
Matt's Pick: Grey Zabel, OG, North Dakota State
Analysis: The Eagles are never bashful about drafting linemen on either side of the ball. In this scenario, Zabel is the best lineman on the board.
Mike's Pick: Derrick Harmon, DT, Oregon
Analysis: O-line, D-Line, the Eagles' favorite game is always "What's My Line?" (Google it).
Rob's Pick: Tre Harris, WR, Ole Miss
